From Dreamer to Doer
I’ve Been Where You Are—Let Me Show You the Way
Excited you’re considering studying abroad! I was once a dream-filled 20-something aiming to go global—and I did. Here’s my story.
1
From IT High Performer to MBA Aspirant
After graduating in Computer Engineering from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), I began my IT career at Atos-Syntel, where I was recognized as a top performer and sent within two years to work with Allstate Insurance in Chicago. The global exposure was invaluable—but I knew I needed more to reach my potential. I took the GMAT, scored 750/800, and began applying to top U.S. MBA programs.
2
Finding My Starting Point
I had no clear roadmap. After weeks of forums, books, and conversations, I realized I needed strong essays and interview skills to reach my dream MBA. It wasn’t the full picture—but it was a start. Then came the most exciting phase of my life!
3
The Essay Grind
I spent months researching programs, visiting campuses, and learning from students and faculty. But the toughest part was essays—my early drafts missed the mark. After more research, I built a formula and kept rewriting until I was confident. Long days (and nights)? Absolutely.
4
Mastering the Interview
Then came interviews—and another steep learning curve. My content was solid, but my storytelling fell short. Through hundreds of practice sessions with friends, colleagues, students, and alumni, I learned to craft compelling answers and deliver them with confidence. Gradually, the wow factor came together.
5
The Waitlist Battle
11 schools. 6 interviews. Done? Not quite. I was waitlisted at NYU Stern School of Business and Carnegie Mellon Tepper School of Business—both top programs and my first and last interviews. Realizing the fight wasn’t over, I doubled down: writing to admissions, gathering insights, and securing support from current students. Some efforts worked; others tested my patience.
6
Breakthrough at Boston University
After the ups and downs, I earned admission to Boston University—my Top 40 safety school—with a full scholarship and a dual-degree option. I was on top of the world. Weeks later, NYU Stern School of Business converted my waitlist—but without funding.
7
Choosing Freedom Over Rankings
At the final crossroads, I chose a full scholarship at a slightly lower-ranked program over heavy loans at a higher-ranked one. Prioritizing financial freedom paid off—graduating debt-free let me pursue an unconventional path in education and return to India without financial stress.
8
From Applicant to Mentor
Over this year-long journey, I learned, failed, relearned—and even unlearned. I saw how confusing admissions can be with limited reliable guidance. That realization led me, after my MBA, into test prep and admissions consulting.
9
15 Years of Impact
Over the past 15 years, I’ve guided hundreds of students—most to their target programs across MBAs, master’s, PhDs, and undergrad. I don’t claim their success, but I know the right guidance can be catalytic. My goal is simple: help driven candidates succeed—with genuine passion.
